1. New employees are required to get a criminal background check and security guard and or Private Investigator form properly filled out; as well obtain a passport size photo
2. A photo copy of the followings is require for the personal file
* Drivers licence
* Sin number
* A copy of citizenship or immigration card
3. TD1 and Td1ab tax forms are required to be fully filled out to ensure staff me member gets paid
4. Complete ion of training program with in the first 3 months of employment
5. Completion of training requires an 80% on the test. After complete ion of training program a $100 graduation will be placed on the guard’s next paycheque.
6. Alberta Justice requires 24 hour after proper forms and photo are sent, to permit guard to work in field.
Uniforms
1. Threat Control Group will supply the following to guard
* a white uniform dress shirt
* winter coat
* Baseball cap
* Spring coat
2. The guard will supply and wear on duty their own black pants and black shoes.
3. Guards will be not permitted to carry any unprohibited weapons on their duty belt such as a baton or chemical spray.
4. Handcuffs will be permitted if the guard has passed training on proper handcuff techniques or manger’s approval.
5. Shirts must be tucked in and be clean
6. long hair must be tied back
7. full uniform must be worn for full length of shift
8. Only licensed Private Investigator are allowed to wear plain clothes on duty, but must have expressed permission from management.
9. Guard may be required to wear hard hat and steal toed boots depending on site requirements.
Payroll
1. Guards are required to submit a time sheet every Monday. This is not the management’s responsibility to fill out a guard’s time. As well the guard is responsible for filling out their own time sheet. If a time sheet is not submitted on time before the pay roll cut off it will put onto the next pay cheque.
2. Time sheet will require the following:
* Guard’s first and last name
* Dated
* Proper name of site/ name of event
* Total time work at site/event
* Total time worked that week
3. Falsifying a time sheet stating that a guard worked certain hours that guard did not work will be consider theft of time and will result in the guard’s immediate dismal.
4. TCG does not pay over time, but will permit guards to work over 40 hours to earn additional pay with guard clearly understanding they will be just paid their normal rate.
5. Pay raises will dealt with by JS investigation management
6. Guards will deal with administration with any problems with paycheques, which will dealt with during business hours of the office
7. Once a year guard and or private investigator licence fees will be deducted from staff’s pay
Reports
1. Reports are to be properly filled out as demonstrated in training
2. Reports should state clients and other TCG staff that are on site after hours as well time of arrival and departure
3. Information on what was done on rounds will be stated on report, such as
* What was check ( heaters, pumps, doors, and other items clients have asked)
* Where the guard has patrolled
* Stating if the site is all clear
4. Incident reports will be required to be filled out for following
* When guard arrests a subject
* signs of break in
* unusual behaviour on site
* damage to site
* notices questionable behaviour
* injury
* emergency services are called
* alarm goes off
* and who was notified about incident if needed
5. Incident reports required as much detailed information that the guard can provide, and fill out immediately after incident as time permits.
6. Falsifying reports will result in dismal or reduction in hours; this will be determined by the TCG Manager or Assistant manger.
7. The following staff are required to ensure daily reports are delivered to the night manager for review at their request each week; mobile staff and or site supervisors
8. Incidents reports are to be delivered or faxed to the office for TCG management review as soon as possible.
Conduct
1. TCG staff will behave in a professional manner
2. Perform duties required of static site or mobile duties in a safe manner. As well duties are to be performed in the time required
3. sleeping on duty is not permitted
4. Racial and sexual discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated
5. Being intoxicated on duty will result in immediate dismal.
6. Insubornite behaviour can result in termination; the matter will be reviewed to determine this.
7. Follow orders of a superior as directed and unless felt unsafe
8. Clients information is considered to be confidential and not to be shared with Non-TCG staff
9. The guard will be responsible for TCG property while on duty which is required for their duties, such as radios, cell phone, night vision, cameras, bullet proof vest, wands, and TCG vehicles. If the guard negligent behaviour has cause damage or loss of TCG the guard will be required to reburse the company for the loss or will face termination.
Being off site
1. Leaving a static site without permission is considered dereliction of duty, and is grounds for immediate termination.
2. Guards can obtain permission to leave site from the following people
* Mobile supervisor
* Night manger
* On call TCG Manager
3. Condition of the site before leaving site
o All entry points to site must be locked and secured. As well as tool boxes and vital areas on site
o All non TCG staff must be off site. Please note you may not ask them to leave if they are entitled to be there
4. A round must be immediately done before leaving site and upon returning to site
5. A guard can be only off site for no more than 15 minutes, anymore time the guard considered to be off site without permission. and can face immediate termination. Further time can be acquired if the mobile driver is able to cover the site. The mobile driver has the right to refuse to cover the site, for any reason they feel fit. Please note as well after 15 minutes the whole time off site may be not paid. If stated on the guard time sheet they can face immediate dismal for theft of time.
6. The guard must notify dispatch when leaving site and returning back on site. Dispatch will be required to note this on their dispatch report. The guard must state they were offsite on their daily report as well.
7. Leaving site due to sickness or emergency. The guard must notify the mobile driver or on call TCG manager. The guard must stay on site till relieved. The mobile driver will be usually the first to be on site and will be required to cover the site. The mobile driver cannot leave site till replacement is found and arrived on site, or the contracted time TCG Security staff is required to be on site has expired.
Dispatch
1. Radio check on all static sites a minimum of once an hour, and note the time and if the guard responded to radio check in the dispatch report. This includes during the day on the weekend.
2. If a static site fails to respond to a radio check Dispatch is required to notify the mobile driver. The mobile driver then will call the static via radio to check on the site; when that fails the mobile driver is then required to physically check on the static guard’s condition.
3. If a static site doesn’t have access to a phone; dispatch will be required to call the proper emergency service phone number if needed, and relay the information to the emergency service operator such as
o Site address
o Why site requires emergency service to attend
o Description on what has occurred
4. If dispatch fails to check up on a static site. The static site is required then to check in with dispatch. If that fails the static site is then required to notify the mobile driver, and the mobile driver is to physically check up on dispatch.
5. Mobile drivers are required to check in with dispatch at the beginning of their shift and the end of their shift.
6. Dispatch will be required to fill out an incident report for the following. In the report state what actions have been taken by dispatch.
* Called emergency services for their site or another
* A guard didn’t respond to a multiple radio checks in a shift
Trespasser(s) on site
1. Radio dispatch and inform them about the trespasser on your site. Request a 5 to 10 minute timer. A timer is pre-determine amount of time requested for dispatch to do a radio check back on a guard. If the guard fails to respond to the radio check dispatch is the required to notify the mobile driver to do a physical check on the guard, and possibly contacting emergency services.
2. From a safe distance, identify yourself as security and request the person or persons that they are required to leave the site
3. If they fail to leave inform them that will call the police. Do not physically remove the person.
4. If the person or persons fail to leave after they inform that will call police, from a safe area call dispatch update them on the situation; then have dispatch call police or call the police your self. Call 9-11 if damage is occurring or felt to be dangerous. Non-emergency if the subject seems to be passive and non-aggressive.
5. Fill out incident report and possibly a police report
Damage discovered on your site
1. After discovering damage to your site inform the night manager or the on-call TCG manager.
2. Call the client’s emergency contact phone, inform them to the situation. Do this if needed; ask advice from night manager or on call TCG manager.
3. Fill out an incident report
4. If the damage has created a new entry point to the site, patrol that area more frequently.
Fire
1. Call 9-11 inform them of the fire and give them the address of the site.
2. Evacuate all know people in the building.
3. Ensure no one re-enters site till fire department gives the go ahead. Please note this may mean you will have to do crowd control to ensure emergency services have access to the site and people put themselves into dangerous situation.
Quitting or Dismissal from company
1. If you decide to quit the company we require written notice to this fact. This ensures your intent has been clearly communicated.
2. Please note you will be deducted money off your last pay cheque if the following is not return in good condition.
* Uniform shirt
* Winter coat
* Licence(s); Private investigator and or security guard
* As well equipment that you have signed out from storage, example; night vision, bullet proof vest, slash proof vest, metal detector wands, company cell phone, company radio, etc
3. Please note your first 3 month period with the company is considered your probation period. In your probation management will evaluate an employee’s performance to determine with if the company wishes to continue employment of the individual. The company can dismiss the employee at any point, during the probation period.
4. The following offences will result in immediate dismissal.
* Theft of time
* Theft of property and funds of the company’s or client’s
* Being intoxicated on duty
* Gross misconduct
5. An employee will be given a formal write up on their misconduct. The write up will inform the employee that misconduct will not be tolerated, and if continues will result in termination. The employee will then sign the write up stating they have understand that conduct will not be tolerated. A copy will be then given to the employee for their records and copy will be placed in the employee’s file for the record of company. Failure to sign will result in suspension.
Mobile Guard/Static site that require vehicles
1. Will do their mobile check stop(s) stated in the contract.
2. Ensure they have the proper reports with them, example; run sheet, as well possible checklist individual clients may require for their site.
3. The use of the wand is mandatory, mobile driver mainly or if the site has a wand.
4. The patrol car must be returned to the office after their shift to ensure it gets fuelled up for the next shift. Only the Managers and staff that have been issue gas cards can take the vehicles home with them.
5. The staffs that have been issues gas card are responsible for the card. As well are responsible for submitting gas receipts to administration.
6. Patrol vehicles are to be kept clean. They are to be washed on regular basis, within reason.
7. Traffic and parking violations will be paid by the guard. It is the guard responsibility to follow all traffic laws, not the company’s.
8. All complaints about a guard’s driving will be evaluated by management. Punishment will be determined on per case basis.
9. Personal use of the car is not permitted.
10. Eating in the vehicle is a privilege not a right. The guards are expected to clean up any mess after their shift, not their rotation. This is to ensure the cars look clean and are presentable to our clients and future clients, as well ensures a pleasant working environment for fellow employees.
11. If a guard notices a vehicle needs repairs they need to inform the on duty manager/supervisor. The manager or supervisor will decide the action to be taken. Please note the vehicle must be safe for the guard to use. Action(s) can be taken can be reduction of use of vehicle, only use of the vehicle to drive to office or mechanic shop. Worst case scenario the vehicle will be towed to the proper destination.
